Professional Tour Guide

Born and raised in Cappadocia, Turgay developed an early fascination with the landscapes, history, and living traditions that define Central Anatolia. Growing up among valleys, rock-cut settlements, and ancient cultural layers gave him a deep and personal connection to the region he now introduces to travelers.

Turgay studied both Tourism Guidance and Art History at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, combining academic knowledge with firsthand local experience. His education enables him to interpret not only monuments and archaeological sites, but also the cultural meanings and human stories behind them.

Before becoming a licensed professional tour guide in 2019, he gained practical experience working with hotels and travel companies throughout Cappadocia. This background strengthened his understanding of guest expectations and helped him develop a thoughtful, well-paced approach to private travel experiences.

Although his expertise is deeply rooted in Cappadocia, Turgay’s interests extend beyond the region’s famous landmarks. He enjoys exploring the relationship between landscapes, local traditions, art, and everyday life, helping travelers experience destinations with greater context and authenticity.

Known for his calm presence, strong communication skills, and attention to detail, Turgay designs journeys that balance historical insight with meaningful local encounters. Whether guiding guests through Cappadocia’s valleys, discussing Anatolia’s artistic heritage, or sharing stories that connect past and present, he believes travel becomes memorable when places are understood through the people and traditions that shaped them.

Outside guiding, Turgay enjoys hiking, listening to music, and participating in archaeological projects that allow him to remain closely connected to the cultural landscapes of Anatolia.
